Visitation statistics for Sydney based on the latest Tourism Research Australia National and International Visitor Survey data.

Sydney is the top destination for domestic and international travellers to capital cities in Australia.

In the year ending December 2024, Sydney welcomed 33.2 million domestic visitors, who spent $15.9 billion in the state. Domestic overnight visitors stayed a total of 31.7 million nights.

Sydney also welcomed 3.5 million international visitors. They stayed 83.5 million nights and spent $10.9 billion in the city.
