The Destination NSW New Product Workshop event will take place on Wednesday 5 March 2025 from 8:00am – 7:30pm at Western Sydney Conference Centre, 81 Mulgoa Road, Penrith NSW 2756.

Trade distribution partners (buyers) attending the Destination NSW New Product Workshop represent a variety of eastern and western markets. They include Inbound Tour Operators (ITOs) and Online Travel Agents (OTAs) that sell stays and experiences in NSW to visitors from around the world.

Prior to the New Product Workshop, sellers will receive a buyer guide, with more information on the registered buyer companies. 20-25 buyers are expected to attend the event.
Event objectives
The objective of the workshop is to grow overnight visitor expenditure for NSW by:
- Establishing relationships between newly export ready NSW tourism product suppliers (sellers) and travel distributors (buyers)
- Increasing destination and product awareness
- Raising the profile of NSW tourism product suppliers
- Growing business opportunities for NSW
- Creating opportunities for NSW tourism product suppliers to contract with distributors in the online and inbound distribution system.
With a maximum of 25 places available for sellers at the event, preference will be given to those who most closely meet the selection criteria. In order to showcase the depth and diversity of products Destination NSW reserves the right to determine final participation. If the number of applications exceeds the maximum number of sellers for the event, applicants will be waitlisted and contacted in the event of a place becoming available.
In order to attend the New Product Workshop, your accommodation, visitor attraction, tour/activity provider or tourism transport business must be export ready by the date of the event.
Attending visitor economy businesses (sellers) must:
- Have attended a NSW First Inbound Strategy Workshop
- Be an established tourism business (operating for a minimum of 12 months) with an ABN
- Be new to selling product (e.g. accommodation, visitor attraction, tour/activity provider or tourism transport) through the Australian inbound travel trade
- Offer commissionable rates for ITOs/OTAs and be able to extend credit terms to these buyers
- Have a clear ‘terms of trade’ policy (terms and conditions) in place for distribution partners
- Have a complete professional trade sales kit, including factsheet(s), inbound nett rates and trade terms
- Have a complete presentation to use in appointments at the workshop
- Offer a set schedule of frequent operation
- Have facilities to process bookings with at least a 24-hour turnaround time
- Hold all relevant government licences, permits and registrations required to operate your tourism business, including a National Parks Eco Pass if you operate a commercial tour in a NSW national park or reserve
- Hold public liability insurance to a minimum of $20,000,000
- Have an up-to-date, live ATDW-Online listing on sydney.com or visitnsw.com
- Meet all deadlines for requested materials and payment, including the provision of public liability insurance certificate of currency and three high resolution, landscape images (.jpeg format). Failure to meet deadlines may result in your place being forfeited.
It is also highly recommended that sellers complete the following prior to the workshop:
- The free ATEC Host modules: China Host, India Host, Accessible & Inclusive Host (total completion time: 3 hours per module).
- The free Strive 4 Sustainability Scorecard, delivered in partnership with Ecotourism Australia.
There is no pro-rata discount if an element of the event program is not undertaken by you.
The participation package includes the following:
- Half-day Online Seller Training (virtual workshop) for two participants per business, Thursday 30 January 2025, 9:30 – 12:30
- One-to-one video call presentation rehearsal with Destination NSW, scheduled directly with you, to take place 17 – 21 February 2025
- New Product Workshop full day attendance for up to two delegates per business, Wednesday 5 March 2025, including:
- Buyer appointments
- Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea
- Evening networking function with attending buyers, including drinks and canapés.
Each applicant business can register up to two delegates to attend the Seller Training and the New Product Workshop.
The participation package excludes the following:
- Meals and beverages not outlined in the program
- Accommodation
- Access to equipment such as internet, email, printers, scanners, photocopiers, stationery etc.
- Transport to/from the event
- Parking expenses
- Travel insurance
- Other personal incidentals
Please note it is a mandatory requirement to attend the Online Seller Training and participate in the rehearsal sessions.
A seller fee of AUD $400 (including GST) per business applies for up to two delegates to attend. Payment is made once your application is approved and confirms your commitment to fully participate in the New Product Workshop. Payment is via a secure online payment gateway. Visa or Mastercard accepted, please note American Express is not accepted.
The package is taken as is, with no discounts provided if you do not attend a particular element of the event.
Please make note of the cancellation policy in this prospectus; fees may apply in the event of late payment or cancellation. This event will consist of a minimum of 16 and a maximum of 25 NSW sellers. Should the minimum number not be reached, the event may not proceed and this decision will be made at the discretion of Destination NSW. This decision will be made by Wednesday 5 February 2025 and all registered participants will be advised.
Cancellations received on or before Thursday 6 February 2025 5pm (AEST time): your place in the event is cancelled without cancellation fees.
Cancellations received after Thursday 6 February 2025 5pm (AEST time) will incur a cancellation of AUD $400 (inclusive of GST).
All cancellations must be received in writing to product@dnsw.com.au.

Seller training virtual workshop (Zoom):

In this session, learn more about the New Product Workshop and buyers, get tips to prepare, present and optimise your appointment time, and learn how to follow up and maintain a trade contact strategy.
Presentation rehearsal (video call):
17-21 February 2025
During the 30-minute rehearsal call, a DNSW Product Development representative will pose as a buyer, and you will deliver a full 13-minute appointment. Afterwards, you will receive individual feedback on your presentation, trade sales kit and discuss any other questions you may have. Prepare your presentation and trade kit in advance of the call.
The one-to-one Microsoft Teams call will be scheduled with you directly.
Attend New Product Workshop:
8:00am-7:30pm, 5 March 2025
Access to the Western Sydney Conference Centre for arrival and set up for the New Product Workshop is from 8:00am on the morning of the event.
Please note you will need to facilitate your own bump in and bump out. The venue does not provide trolleys or have equipment to lend out.
The one-day workshop involves a series of appointments of approximately 13 minutes each with a minute in between plus lunch and short breaks for morning and afternoon tea. You can expect to see approximately 20-25 buyers throughout the day.
After the final meeting, you can pack down your table while the buyers go on a site visit of the venue, before you meet them for networking drinks and canapés in the evening.
Your table must be ready by 8.30am.

The workshop venue will be themed with Destination NSW branding.
Each NSW tourism supplier will have a white-clothed 1.8m x 1m trestle table to theme.
Theming items can include an iPad/tablet or laptop, and table décor relevant to your tourism product or visitor experience offering, including sensory items.
Pull-up banners are not permitted.
You are welcome to provide small giveaways such as branded items or locally-made produce, noting that any food or drink must be sealed and not served to buyers.
Buyer participants will receive a Directory of Sellers. This directory will be distributed to all buyer participants and will contain sellers’ product information. The directory serves as a reference tool for buyers after the event.
Delegate contact details, a company logo, three product images and a company biography will be included for each tourism supplier. You will be required to upload your company logo, three landscape product images (high resolution .jpg file format) and a 200-word biography during the application process.
It is suggested that all materials are delivered in digital format after the workshop.

A Destination NSW photographer will attend the morning appointment session to take photos and videos of the event. We use these images in Destination NSW communications, such as annual reports, presentations and toolkits. Please advise Destination NSW staff if you do not wish to be photographed.

All participants are responsible for personal travel/accommodation, health insurance, public and product liability insurance, workers compensation and property insurance coverage for the duration of the event.
