About

Regional NSW is key to the future of the state’s visitor economy and a focus of the NSW Visitor Economy Strategy 2030. The strategy's target is $65 billion in total visitor expenditure by 2030, with regional NSW contributing $25 billion.

There are 12 tourism regions in Regional NSW, which are defined jointly by Tourism Research Australia and the state tourism organisation. Each tourism region is constructed from allocations of whole Statistical Area Level 2s (SA2s), which are small spatial units of the Australian Statistical Geography Standard. The latest tourism region boundary map can be found here.
