A new ‘Winter Escapes’ campaign that went into market last week, uses digital display, social, search and content advertising to promote visitation to the region. The additional funding will see further marketing campaigns rolled out this year.

Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres said the funding would help attract visitors to assist the region to recover from the recent storms.

“The current ‘Winter Escapes’ campaign, developed by the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency Destination NSW with Central Coast Tourism, shows people the Central Coast is a great winter holiday destination,” Mr Ayres said.

“This additional support is great news for local operators, adding to the already announced funding under the NSW Government’s Regional Visitor Economy Fund (RVEF), and helping further drive visitation during traditionally quieter periods.”

Member for Terrigal Adam Crouch said campaigns would target people from nearby Sydney.

“The ‘Winter Escapes’ campaign uses images and video of Central Coast experiences, and fantastic three-night accommodation deals and great rates on activities, to appeal to potential visitors,” Mr Crouch said.

“The additional funding announced today will help us further market the region as a great place to visit, helping grow the local visitor economy.”

The RVEF is managed and administered by Destination NSW and supports investment in the Regional NSW visitor economy on a matched dollar-for-dollar basis. NSW Government funding for the current ‘Winter Escapes’ campaign is being matched by Central Coast Tourism and its industry members.
