Destination NSW has partnered with Tourism Australia to support the production of a six-part series called Gary Barlow’s Food & Wine Tour: Australia.
A preview screening of the series was held at the Australian High Commission in London ahead of its premiere on 11 April 2025.
The event turned the basement of Australia House into a cinema, offering around 100 guests a glimpse of the series.
Guests walked a green and gold carpet, posed with mascot Ruby the Roo in front of a Come & Say G’Day photo wall and enjoyed Australia-inspired canapés and wines featured in the series Ten Minutes by Tractor.
The evening was opened by Deputy High Commissioner Elisabeth Bowes while the star himself spoke about his passion for Australia’s culinary offering and winemaking, before being inducted into the Friends of Australia program.
In the first episode, singer songwriter Gary Barlow explores Sydney and regional NSW.

He samples visitor experiences including cruising around Sydney Harbour and walking on Bondi Beach, sampling Indigenous food at Midden by Mark Olive, tasting oysters on the coast and sipping wines in the Hunter Valley.

The Take That lead singer is joined by famous friends during his travels, including Tim Minchin and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
The series was filmed during the singer’s 2024 Australian tour with Take That.
Tourism Australia and the State Tourism Offices of NSW, Western Australia, South Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland and Victoria partnered to support the production.
Tourism Australia said: “This is the first time Tourism Australia, and the State Tourism Offices have invested in a television series on this scale since 2019, so we’re thrilled to see Australia back on screens in the UK.
“We know from our tourism partners in the UK that broadcast still wields enormous influence with British travellers, who do pick up the phone and book the incredible journeys they see on screen.”
The series is screening in the United Kingdom on ITV1 and will be available to watch on demand on ITVX.
