Mr Ward said that following the success of last year’s inaugural event, Harley Days 2017 will be supported by the New South Wales Government.

“It is fantastic to have Harley Days, which is set to attract 2,500 overnight visitors to the region and generate an incredible $1.9 million in visitor spend, returning to Wollongong this week,” he said.

“We know that our investment in events, such as Harley Days plays an important role in attracting more domestic and international visitors to our wonderful region which in turn, provides a significant boost for our local hotels, restaurants and tourist attractions.

“I welcome these motorcycle enthusiasts and visitors alike back to Wollongong for another bumper weekend of entertainment which will also showcase our stunning riding routes and great food and wine,” Mr Ward said.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said the NSW Government has committed record funding to allow the State’s tourism and events industry to grow and grow.

“We are creating a tourism bonanza for our regions and will continue to work to ensure every part of New South Wales reaps the benefits of our record investment,” Mr Marshall said.

“I am determined to turbocharge rural and regional tourism and our continued support for events such as Harley Days reinforces our commitment to ensuring our State remains number one.”

Harley Days will be held at Stuart Park, Wollongong from 27th–29th October 2017 and will include events such as a Show and Shine, demonstrations, live entertainment, guided rides and a Thunder Run, a mass participation Harley- Davidson motorcycle ride showcasing key locations in Wollongong and surrounds.
