“The International Fleet Review will be one of the biggest events ever staged in Sydney – I’m delighted that Prince Harry will now be part of the celebrations,” Mr O’Farrell said.

“Every royal visit attracts enormous excitement and I’m sure Sydneysiders will embrace Prince Harry during his short stay.

“The International Fleet Review is being held to commemorate the centenary of the first entry of the Royal Australian Navy’s Fleet into Sydney Harbour and about 40 warships from around the world are expected to take part.

“Prince Harry has forged a distinguished military career in his own right so it’s fitting he’ll officiate in centenary celebrations for the Royal Australian Navy.

“Prince Harry’s visit for the International Fleet Review will attract worldwide attention and it will be a great opportunity to again showcase Sydney as Australia’s premier city,” he said.

Details of the program, and locations where the public will be able to see the Prince, will be made publicly available closer to the visit.
