Vivid Sydney has won 18 medals at the Academy Awards of the festivals and events industry.

The International Festival & Events Association (IFEA) Pinnacle Awards celebrate the best in festival and event innovation, creativity and excellence. They highlight excellence in categories ranging from outstanding programming and marketing campaigns to sustainability initiatives and unforgettable experiences.

Winners of the 2024 Pinnacle Awards were announced during the IFEA Annual Convention & Expo in Pittsburgh, United States.

Owned, managed and produced by Destination NSW, Vivid Sydney attracted millions of attendees to the Harbour City from 24 May – 15 June 2024. The event also celebrated a record-breaking opening night and the busiest single night in the festival’s history on Sunday 9 June.

Destination NSW CEO Steve Cox said:

“Since 2009, Vivid Sydney has grown to become Sydney’s vibrant cultural showpiece, driving significant visitation expenditure to Sydney and regional NSW and positioning our state as the arts and creative industries capital of the Asia Pacific.

“Winning 18 medals at the 2024 Pinnacle Awards provides global recognition for the Southern Hemisphere’s largest multi-artform festival.”

Vivid Sydney Festival Director Gill Minervini said:

“It was such a privilege and honour to direct Vivid Sydney in its 14th year, which featured an incredible line-up of light, music, ideas and food under 2024’s theme of Humanity.
