A record breaking 201 businesses from The Rocks to Hollywood Quarter have registered their special Vivid Sydney experiences, menus, packages and tours with the Vivid Sydney Local Business Program.

The Local Business Program provides an opportunity for businesses to join the festival’s vibrant community and take advantage of the increased visitation presented by Australia’s largest festival.

The program aims to inspire festival attendees to visit, shop or dine locally and supports businesses with promotion on the Vivid Sydney website and with professionally installed assets to attract customers.

The Vivid Sydney Local Business Program is part of the NSW Government’s commitment to support the local business community in and around the event footprint, with vividsydney.com generating over 380,000 industry and event partner leads over the 2023 festival campaign period.

Some of the participating businesses taking part in the program to provide Vivid Sydney newcomers and returning visitors with a unique experience include:

  • Sydney Harbour Kayaks is offering evening kayaking tours to view the Vivid Sydney lights from the water.
  • Hickson House has illuminating projections, exclusive gin tastings and an immersive dark room experience on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Disco Peeps Au is taking guests on a walking tour through sections of the installations in Darling Quarter, Barangaroo and Circular Quay led by singing and dancing.
  • Mutha Runner is a returning business that hosts ‘Run Vivid’, a 6.5km social run club that forms a moving light installation with participants wearing neon coloured running vests.

Destination NSW CEO Steve Cox said: “Vivid Sydney brings hundreds of thousands of visitors to the city from across Australia and around the world to experience the Southern Hemisphere’s largest festival of light, music, ideas and food.

“I am so pleased more than 200 businesses have registered to work with Vivid Sydney to ensure their business shines brightly to so many potential customers visiting the festival to have an unforgettable experience.

“Vivid Sydney plays a key role in driving visitation to Sydney and supporting the NSW visitor economy and we want to ensure all our visitors enjoy their Vivid Sydney experience and leave wanting to return for even more of Sydney’s hospitality.”

Founder of Hickson House Mikey Enright said: “Vivid Sydney attracts huge crowds of consumers to the Rocks precinct. Hickson House has had great exposure through the Local Business Program and we’ve been able to elevate the experiences to them.”
