Destination NSW's inaugural Focus on North Asia 2024 event will be held from 14-15 November 2024, bringing around 60 key travel buyers from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea to NSW.
The event will provide NSW suppliers with the chance to connect with travel buyers through appointment-based workshops and a networking gala dinner.
A familiarisation program will also showcase NSW visitor experiences, cities, regions and events to key travel buyers.
The North Asia markets, comprising China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and South Korea, represent a significant contribution to international tourism for NSW. Combined, these source markets are responsible for 21 per cent of international visitors, 25 per cent of international visitor nights and 38 per cent of international visitor expenditure in NSW.
The event aims to grow overnight visitor expenditure in NSW by increasing destination and product awareness, growing business and contracting opportunities for NSW visitor economy suppliers with key travel buyers and strengthening and establishing travel industry relationships with North Asian travel buyers.
NSW visitor economy suppliers are invited to apply to attend the Focus on North Asia 2024 Workshop. Places are strictly limited.

The event follows a successful Focus on India event held in Sydney in March 2024.
Destination NSW hosted a delegation of more than 35 key travel partners from India, showcasing the extraordinary array of visitor experiences on offer to one of the state’s most important inbound tourism markets.
Destination NSW CEO Steve Cox said: "The event provided an invaluable platform for NSW visitor economy operators to develop business relationships with key Indian travel partners. These new connections will expose our local operators to new and bigger audiences, supporting businesses and thousands of jobs throughout the state’s visitor economy.”
